The TCS3200 Color Recognition Sensor Module uses a high-quality light sensor that allows us to detect any colour by combining Red, Green, and Blue signals. White light is made up of three primary colours with distinct wavelengths (red, green, and blue). These colours blend together to create various shades of colour. Depending on the qualities of the surface material, some wavelengths of light are absorbed and others are reflected when white light falls on it. The wavelengths that are reflected back into our eyes determine the colour we see. A common colour sensor consists of a high-intensity white LED that emits a modulated light onto the object. Almost all colour sensors have a grid of colour-sensitive filters, often known as 'Bayer Filters,' and an array of photodiodes underneath to detect the colour of reflected light.
