Stmicroelectronics ST3232B 3 to 5.5 V, Low-power, Up to 400 Kbs RS-232 Drivers and Receivers

The ST3232B device consists of two line drivers, two line receivers, it provides the electrical interface between an asynchronous communication controller and the serial-port connector. The charge pump and four small external capacitors allow operation from a single 3-V to 5.5-V supply. The 3 V powered ST3232B and ST3232C devices are low power consumption, high data rate capable EIA/TIA-232 and V.28/V.24 communication interfaces. These devices function as true RS-232 devices from 3 to 5.5 V supplies thanks to a proprietary low dropout transmitter output stage. Just four tiny, standard external capacitors with a 0.1 mF value are needed for the devices to function on a 3 V supply.
