Description
The LM2576 family of regulators are monolithic integrated circuits that perform all of the active operations for a step-down (buck) switching regulator capable of driving 3A loads while maintaining excellent line and load control. These devices are available in 3.3V, 5V, 12V, 15V, and configurable output voltage versions. These regulators are simple to operate and require only a few external components. They incorporate internal frequency compensation and a fixed-frequency oscillator. The LM2576 series replaces popular three-terminal linear regulators due to its high efficiency. It significantly reduces the size of the heat sink and, in some situations, eliminates the need for a heat sink entirely.
