Description
The HCF4021 is an integrated circuit manufactured using metal oxide semiconductor technology, offered in PDIP-16 and SO-16 packages. This component functions as an 8-stage register with the option for parallel or serial input and serial output. It features common clock and control inputs for parallel/serial operation, a single serial data input, and individual parallel "jam" inputs for each register stage. Each stage of the register comprises a D-type master-slave flip-flop, with an output available from stage 8. Additionally, "Q" outputs are accessible from stages 6 and 7. Serial data entry occurs synchronously with the clock, while parallel entry is asynchronous.
Features:
- Medium-speed operation: Clock rate of 12 MHz (typical) achievable at VDD - VSS = 10 V.
- Operates fully statically.
- Contains 8 master-slave flip-flops along with output buffering and control gating.
- Quiescent current specified up to 20 V.
- Parametric ratings include 5 V, 10 V, and 15 V.
- Input leakage current (II) does not exceed 100 nA at VDD = 18 V and TA = 25°C.
