Description
The demultiplexing function is carried out by addressing the output line with one of the strobe inputs HIGH and sending data from the other strobe input with the other strobe input LOW. If either strobe input is HIGH, Each output is HIGH. High-performance memory decoders can be implemented with the help of these demultiplexers. To reduce transmission-line effects and thus make system design simpler, all inputs are buffered, and input clamping diodes are offered. Decoders are used for code conversions. Decoders are extensively used in memory systems of computers. Decoders are also used for de-multiplexing or data distribution. Decoders are also used in data routing applications where very short propagation delay is required.
Features:
- Decodes 4 binary-coded inputs into one of 16 mutually exclusive outputs
- Performs the demultiplexing function by distributing data from one input line to any one of 16 outputs
- Input clamping diodes simplify system design
- High fan-out, low-impedance, totem-pole outputs
