Description
Analog Capacitive Soil Moisture Sensor V2.0
Analog Capacitive Soil Moisture Sensor (Anti-Corrosion) is a soil moisture sensor based on capacitance variation. Compared with the resistive sensor, the capacitive sensor does not require direct contact with the metal electrode, which can greatly reduce the electrode corrosion, it is considered to be anti-corrosion.It is important to note that this sensor can only qualitatively test soil moisture and cannot measure it quantitatively. As soil moisture increases, yield values decrease; conversely, when the humidity decreases, the output value becomes higher.
This Capacitive Soil Moisture Sensor V2.0 measures soil moisture levels by capacitive sensing rather than resistive sensing like other sensors on the market. It is made of corrosion-resistant material which gives it excellent service life. Insert it into the soil around your plants and impress your friends with real-time soil moisture data. It is perfect for low-voltage MCUs, both 3.3V, and 5V. For compatibility with a Raspberry Pi, it will need an ADC converter. This soil moisture sensor is compatible with our 3-pin “Gravity” interface, which can be directly connected to the Gravity I/O expansion shield.
