This is a Ceramic Capacitor with a value of 0.01uF This capacitor can be used for power decoupling, ensuring smooth power in your circuit, and timing circuits, among other things. It could be placed next to a microcontroller's power pins. 0.1uF capacitor right next to the VCC pin which will improve stability by filtering out power supply spikes and noise that can cause flaky behaviour.
This is a very common 0.01uF capacitor. Used on all sorts of applications to decouple ICs from power supplies.
