Opportunities in ST (Science and Technology)

“You must fall in love with what you do, because being an entrepreneur is a lot of hard work, and overcoming a lot of adversity. From that love will come the dedication that will get you out of bed at 4 a.m. Because of a great idea you just had and get you to work till 11 p.m. And not feel tired.”

This is a very popular quote by Ken Field for people looking for inspiration to start their own enterprises. Rahul Sharma- the founder of HatchnHack explained the meaning of entrepreneurship in his first ever open session conducted at USICT. This day long event titled ‘Orientation for Opportunities’ was conducted by YUVA Science and Technology.

In his session at the event, Rahul Sharma explained the meaning and hard work that goes behind starting one’s own enterprise. He shared his stories and what motivated him to reject various lucrative job offers in pursuit of starting HatchnHack. Taking inspiration from Mark Twain- the famous author who once said- "Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do" he started this initiative with the help of his batchmates from the same college.

He explained his vision behind the HatchnHack and the concept and need of makerspaces.Towards the end of his session, he encouraged the students to work for their ambitions and welcomed them to the HatchnHack family.

The gist of his session can be summed up in the following words- “Entrepreneurship is living a few years of your life like most people won’t, so that you can spend the rest of your life like most people can’t.”
