Description
The step-down switching regulators of the IL2596 series of regulators are monolithic integrated circuits that can drive a 3A load with excellent line and load regulation. These devices come in versions with adjustable output voltages as well as fixed output voltages of 3.3V, 5V, and 12V. These regulators are easy to operate and only need a few external components. The switching frequency used by the IL2596 series is 150 kHz. available in the common TO-220 packaging with 5 leads. Other characteristics include a 4% output voltage tolerance guarantee under predetermined input voltage and output load parameters as well as a 15% oscillator frequency guarantee. Included is external shutdown, with generally 100uA standby current. A two-stage frequency-reducing current limit for the output switch is one of the self-protection features.
